Could your resume have a BIG problem?
90% of resumes have fatal flaws!
Your resume is by far-and-away the most important job sourcing tool you have. It represents you, for better or for worse, when you are not there. A great resume will grab the readers attention and not let go. Much like a great book or movie. It introduces you in the best possible light, accurately and in detail. Does your resume paint a masterpiece of who you are and what you are truly capable of?
There are a lot of qualified people in the market today. The importance of a quality resume has never been greater then it is right now. With limited jobs available, the competition is fierce. Those with the best resumes are getting the first shot at jobs. They are simply out-marketing other job seekers.
Are you an expert at marketing? Not many of us are, but that is exactly the business you are in. You are in the business of marketing your skills, character, personality, values and potential to employers. He/she who markets their products better, wins. It's as plain and simple as that.
"One frequent blunder even million-dollar-job seekers commit is deciding to write and edit their resumes without expert input.
Your labor is the most valuable thing you are going to sell. Would you have an amateur copywriter write copy for the most valuable product you have? Then why would you write your resume yourself?"
